Biodegradation of chrysene and benzo[a]pyrene and removal of metals from naturally contaminated soil by isolated Trametes versicolor strain and laccase produced thereof

The objective of this study was to assess the degradation rates chrysene and benzo[a]pyrene, as well removal aluminium iron from contaminated soil collected in upper layer (0–30 cm) Lagos, Southwest Nigeria. Trametes versicolor isolated used experiments, with plantain peels support. After 8 weeks, 81.0% achieved by T. , adding support increased 91.0%. Benzo[a]pyrene less degradable, 38.0% 49.1% degradation, respectively. also capable accumulate 46.1% 57.2% iron. By peels, these amounts 48.2% 61.8%, At same time, laccase produced on achieving 37.8 U/g crude during SSF at 30 °C for 3 weeks. Laccase experiments were set up packed-bed reactor (PBR), a constant feed 21.6 mL/day laccase, without mediators. In 35 days, 75.8% laccase. highest observed ABTS (2,2 ? -Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid diammonium salt) mediator, 87.9%. reached 35.6%, raising 38.8 % ferulic mediator. addition, 99.2% 99.6% removed being treatment last mediated ABTS. • efficiently degrades presence metals. T .versicolor removes metals heavily soil. Influence metal co-contamination PAH dissipation is studied matrices.
